Patricia Kaleialoha Catanzaro, CMT

Patricia Kaleialoha Catanzaro CMT, Since 1992 has been providing the healing touch of traditional Hawaiian Lomilomi Therapeutic Massage, Wela Pohaku (Lomi hot stones), Reiki and Healing Touch energy sessions. In 2009 Patricia moved to Grass Valley, Ca, opened a new practice and still maintains her part-time practice in Los Altos, California.

Patricia began a life-changing path with Lomi Lomi in 1992 studying with the legendary Auntie Margaret Machado in Hawaii. She continued her studies with Kumu Maka'ala Yates, D.C. who teaches from his family lineage and Kona style as passed to him from Auntie Margared Machado. She also studied with Kumu Dane Kaohelani, Silva, who teaches Hilo style as passed to him through his family lineage in the Puna district south of Hilo. In 2001 Patricia began teaching Lomi massage: Clinical Fundamentals, Advanced and Ohana (family) style.

Patricia is a certified Lomi Lomi teacher with ManaLomi, founded by Kumu Maka'ala Yates, D.C. (C.E. provider for NCBTMB). The principles and concepts of ManaLomi techniques have been around as long as the Hawaiian people have been in existence. It is a profound form of bodywork that is solution-oriented and specific to the client's needs. The ManaLomi technique is based on Hawaiian concepts of working with the 'mana' of the body, mind, and soul of an individual". She assisted Kumu Maka'ala Yates in April 2011 at the Natural Health Care Practitioners Conference in Canada.

Patricia is a founding member and approved teacher of the Hawaiian Lomilomi Association, an "educational, non-profit organization, established in 1998 to promote and perpetuate the art of lomilomi, and to perpetuate the Hawaiian culture and healing arts, and to certify the professional status of its members."

Patricia continues her learning at Lomi Lomi Teachers' conferences and other workshops. In addition to teaching her own workshops she assists at other Lomi special events and workshops. She co-taught with Greg Lee, CMT, at the Diamond Lights Massage School in San Rafael, Ca.

Kaleialoha, Patricia's Hawaiian name was given to her on a significant birthday by her dear friend, Haunani Hopkins. Haunani's interpretation of the name, Kaleialoha, means "an unending circle of love" which represents Patricia's commitment to this healing work. Her deep love of the Hawaiian healing work and culture continues as she shares this loving work with her clients, students, family and friends, and the community. She creates the opportunities and support for her students to grow and live the concepts of Lomi Lomi through educating the community by providing Lomi Lomi at local Polynesian events, special event fundraisers, and community outreach programs.
