Lomi Lomi has a rhythmic flow which penetrates deeply, focusing on key muscle groups, circulation, and joint mobilization which may assist in restoring body alignment. Lomi Lomi is a full-body oil massage and is a circulatory massage working toward the heart and it affects the entire body, including muscles, bones, fascia, nervous system and lymphatic complex. The technique works through several layers of the soft tissue, penetrating deep "into the Bones" where old and new traumas are hidden.
Patricia has learned from the teachings of Auntie Margaret Machado who taught us the "loving touch", Kumu Maka'ala Yates and Kumu Dane Silva of the Big Island. Lomi Lomi is not one technique or style. It has been passed on from ancient times through the families and their lineages. Lomi Lomi massage is based on an ancient traditional Hawaiian holistic approach to wellness, addressing the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual being. It is a cultural approach to restoring the balance of breath (Ha) and spiritual Power (Mana) in the human body (Kino), which constitute essential elements of health (Ola).
