Energy Work
Patricia has been offering dedicated energy sessions using Reiki and Healing Touch. The therapist's hands are very gently placed on or above the fully clothed body to work in the energy fields. The experience creates a deeply relaxed state and sense of well-being for the client and supports the body's innate ability to heal itself. Sessions are generally one hour.
Reiki, in the Usui Tradition, is based on the principles of Chi, or universal life flowing energy, and is an ancient healing art traced to Tibet that supports and assists the body in regaining harmony and balance. In opening blocked energy areas and the chakras, energy force centers, Reiki promotes the body's natural ability to heal itself, opening the possibility for an increased sense of well-being, deeper relaxation and increased energy. Reiki may be received by itself or in combination with a massage.
Healing Touch (as defined by Healing Touch International)
"Healing Touch is a holistic energy therapy that emphasizes compassionate, heart-centered care in which the Healing Touch provider and client are equal partners in facilitating health and healing. Healing Touch providers use gentle, non-invasive touch to influence and support the human energy system within and surrounding the body. The goal of Healing Touch is to restore harmony, energy and balance within the human energy system. This goal supports the client's self-healing process of becoming whole in body, mind, emotion and spirit. Healing Touch complements conventional health care and is also used in collaboration with other approaches to health and healing."
